Failure mode based. Effective task identification.

Functional maintenance plans.

Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) is a widely proven, and accepted, thorough methodology to develop or review maintenance strategies. The RCM process is built upon a functional based Failure Mode, Effect and Criticality (FMECA) structure. The approach justifies all tasks through a connection to the applicable failure mode and the related effect of failure.

Are you experiencing any of these problems?

  • You don’t know why you are performing the current tasks in your maintenance plans
  • The connection between maintenance tasks and asset performance isn't understood
  • You are experiencing failures which don’t seem to be addressed

ARMS Reliability have developed deep expertise in maintenance plan development and review using the sound, structured principles of Reliability Centered Maintenance. Through our extensive project and engineering team experience, ARMS Reliability has built significant experience applying the principles of RCM, with the insights gained from operational data, to deliver defensible and solid maintenance plans.

How ARMS Reliability Helps

Justified maintenance task selection

The FMECA-based RCM process ensures that each and every maintenance task, forming the maintenance plan, is technically feasible, and worth doing.

Documented connection between failure modes and tasks

The FMECA-based process ensures that each task is specifically designed to address the documented failure modes of the asset being analyzed.

Determine and address failure modes and risks

Clearly identify the failure modes of an asset, and the effect of failure in the event of occurrence. This risk can be quantified, using the likelihood of failure of the failure mode. Ranking by the highest risks, appropriate tasks can be implemented to address high risks that may not have occurred yet.
